We’re really excited at the news about relaxing the lockdown and for the hospitality sector to be able to reopen.

What this means for Glazebrook House, is that we’ll be reopening our doors on WEDNESDAY 8TH JULY, 2020 – both the hotel and the restaurant.
We have been making all the necessary hygiene and COVID-19 preparations to meet the highest standards for an establishment such as ours, and by opening will conform to the COVID-19 Secure government guidance .

Perhaps our biggest challenge over the past 3 months has been deciding on a model best suited to ride out the uncertainty the future holds, but to still keep functioning in an economically viable way while maintaining our individuality and ethos.

Our ethos has, and continues to be, “Surprise, Delight and Enrich”. In keeping, we’ll focus on providing a magical experience for our guests, not only inside Glazebrook House, but also in our beautiful Victorian gardens.

The model we’ve chosen coming out of lockdown is to slim ourselves down, and become what we’re calling “Glazebrook Light”. What this means, is that we’re making changes to our opening times, the layout of our restaurant to meet social distancing requirements and some changes to our menus.

Commencing from our reopening some changes will be:
*Open five days per week (Wednesday to Sunday) rather than the 24/7 operation we had before lockdown, but still keeping our restaurant opening times unaltered on the days we are open.
* We are creating two Private Dining areas capable of seating up to 8 people each (should legislation allow) and comfortable social distancing dining in both our restaurant and bar/lounge.
* We will be revising our menus for our in-house dining
* We will be creating a “Glazebrook To Go” menu for those wishing to take advantage of a takeaway service.
* We are also creating a residents lounge on the first floor for our overnight guests.
* We will have 8 rooms available in total rather than 9.

To accommodate our guests concerns regarding the possible need to cancel, we are relaxing the required notice period to only 48 hours, so we encourage room and restaurant bookings from the 8th July, 2020 onwards – they can always be moved or cancelled should guidance so dictate.

In order to accommodate voucher holders whose voucher expiration date is between March and September this year, we are extending the validity until 31st December, 2020 (and will review again if It becomes necessary).

Owing to our restructure we are, very sadly, needing to make adjustments to our staffing levels from the end of August (based on what the future appears to hold after that time), and we will operate with a smaller permanent staff from September onwards depending on need. These changes have obviously been extremely painful but, unfortunately, necessary to allow the business the best chance of survival. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to all those affected.
